15hh, appaloosa mare, 8 years old
This is a 110% honest advert for our lovely mare Rosie. She was originally purchased to be used in the riding school, but she wasn’t destined to be a school horse. We knew she was green but she is also very sensitive so would better suit a single owner. The few of us who have been working her over the last year have really bonded with her, she’s a very sweet, loving mare with lots to give and with some more time and patience she’s really going to be something special.
She’s got good ground manners, good to lead, catch, box, rug, bath and shoe… currently shod on her front feet. She can be a little marish at times in the stable, when grooming and tacking up, nothing nasty, she’s just a bit ticklish! Although she doesn’t usually bite, she licks instead! We’ve never clipped her as never needed to due to her very fine coat…but due to her colour she does have lots of baths which she thoroughly enjoys. She also needs her face and nose sun creaming through summer otherwise she ends up very pink.
Her speciality has always been hacking! She absolutely loves to be out and about. She’s been out with all sorts of different horses and riders whilst with us and used to be exercised on the beach in her previous home. Happy to go first or last or in the middle! 100% in traffic and past all sorts of scary objects. We’re still building up her fitness but now the lighter nights are here we will be taking her on lots of longer routes until she finds her new home.
She’s still a bit green when it comes to schooling, therefore she is NOT A NOVICE RIDE and will only be sold to an experienced home. The ridden clips in the video are from over the last week. She’s got 3 fantastic paces, her floaty trot is what initially made me buy her, and her cute face of course!
She absolutely loves pole work! Still working on her keeping straight before and after but the poles are easy peasy! She loves a jump too! She hasn’t done much jumping but has been perfect every time we’ve got the jumps out. This is something else we’ll be working on until she finds her new home. She’s a quick learner so it wouldn’t take long to have her happily popping round a little course.
I really can’t express enough how sweet she is and I wish I had the time to continue to produce and compete her myself but I’ve been told I’ve got too many horses!
£5000 or nearest offer, happy to negotiate price for the right home.
I would like to sell a made to measure Saddle Company saddle with her as she’s a difficult shape to fit. Bought new 6 months ago at £600, I will sell for £500.
